Oh fucking God no

Page Six is reporting that Hills devils Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are in talks with MTV to get their own reality show focused on their "nupitals." Will this be Newlyweds 2.0? Apparently Spencer was overheard saying that Lauren Conrad won't be on the show so that viewers can get to see the real Heidi. Oh I think we've seen enough of the real Heidi. If her clothing line is any indication of who she is, then we don't want to see any more. This is scary folks. The Speidi maching can't keep on running. I have to go quietly cry now. The New Yorker has an amazing article about the author wondering why reality shows like The Hills are so popular. I'll answer that: It's a non-stop drama fest that gives my mundane life a little sparkle.

The Fug Girls go to Anchor Blue and try on clothes from other Hills co-star Heidi Montag's clothing line, Heidiwood, and they do not like what they see! Are you surprised? Think cheap short-shorts and zebra print. Run away as fast as you can.

So you wanna be a supermodel? Keep on dreaming. Unless you have super-cut cheekbones, a strong jaw and are at least 5'10 then cut your losses and go back to high school or whatever the hell you were doing before this ridiculous dream entered your head. But for those who think they are the next Kate Moss, Sarah Doukas of modeling agency Storm, who actually discovered Kate, explains in a video what she looks for in models.

Recession? What recession? Luxury supergroup LVMH Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessey is defying the slumping economy and has posted a hefty profit in the first quarter sales. U.S. sales of its fashion and leather goods (i.e. all those Richard Prince handbags) has gone up 18 per cent and is still climbing. Good work ladies! Help the economy by buying handbags!

My Gap adventure

I left work an hour early so I could get to the Eaton Centre's Gap to try on the new Design Editions limited edition t-shirts by Philip Lim.

So I got there and there were two racks of maybe a dozen shirts on each. All of the size smalls were gone but luckily there were a few mediums left for all the styles. I grabbed a bunch and made for the dressing room and took pics (without flash so no one would noticed my stealth detective work) so you guys could see what they look like IRL but in crappy lighting.

First all, holy crap the price! All the shirts are $78 plus tax which is the exact amount of tax money I got back from the government. Yay for taxes!

At first I didn't like the feel of the shirt which is made of 100 per cent cotton. It's very thin and lightweight so I was a bit afraid of ripping a seam but when I got it on it felt sturdy and very comfortable. Perfect for the summer.

I tried on three shirts and a dress and picked one out that had a v-neck that ties at the centre, a shirred empire waist and pleated sleeves with buttons. Very cute and I can't wait to wear it.

The threeASFOUR dress looked like a potato sack on me so I will spare you that photo. The other shirts I tried on were cute but I felt didn't look so good on me. I blame the design and not my non-model body. There were some nice details in the shirts such as the pleats, the little neck-tie, the bell sleeve and the picot trim.
Not sure if it's worth the $80 but at least I can say that I own a piece of designer clothing now right? (Photos: Chloe Tejada)

The Philip Lim shirt I ended up buying for $78 bucks. Plus tax.

The horizontal picot trim was pretty on this shirt.

The bell sleeves and the picot trim running down the middle made this shirt elegant yet casual.

The threeASFOUR dress did not look as good on me as it did on Jessica Stam.

Karl and Olsen twin

I love this photo of Karl Lagerfeld air kissing one of the Olsen twins at New York Fashion Week. The shot just captures fashion week in a nutshell. (Photo: New York Look)

Coco is my superhero

See Coco Rocha transform herself into Vogue's version of a superhero. Dolce and Gabbana Girl! Dior Woman! Ok those names are lame but the editorial is awesome! (Photos: Vogue May 2008)

Bring it!

I love how Mary-Kate Olsen doesn't resort to trends or boring red-carpet dresses like so many other young actresses wear these days. It's refreshing to see something different and unique rather than a ball gown. (Photo: Getty Images)

Trouble in Croc land

Crocs Inc., the company that makes those shoes that people think are appropriate to outside of their house, said it will miss its sales and profit forecast and will be shutting down a plant in Québec to cut costs. Wait, you mean people make crocs as a living? The horror!
The Toronto Star says:
"Shares in the Niwot, Colo.-based company hit a new 52-week low yesterday, plunging 43 per cent to close at $10.11 (U.S.) on the Nasdaq Stock Market.

The Quebec plant employs 670 people. Crocs said 262 people had already been laid off and the rest will lose their positions by the end of July."

It's always awful to hear about mass layoffs but I am delighted to hear that women might not have to endure seeing Crocs on the feet across from their Nine Wests/Manolos/Hell, even Adidas would do.

"'Crocs bites the dust,' Robert Samuels, an analyst at J.P. Morgan Securities Inc., wrote in a note to clients."

And fashion-conscious women around the world cheered.

Blake and Leighton in Nylon!

T-minus five days until the much-anticipated new episode of Gossip Girl! Until then, here are some photos from the latest issue of Nylon. Blake and Leighton each get their own covers. Who do you like better? Blondes or brunettes? (Photos: Nylon)

New Coach dustbags are cheap(er)

I was in my sister's room admiring her new Coach bag when I noticed the dustbag for it. Actually I thought it was some old piece of nylon that she wrapped around the bag but she told me it was the dustbag that came with the bag. I couldn't believe how cheap it looked. Upon further inspection I noticed that the bag is indeed made of nylon with many loose stitches and threads coming undone. The stitching is just a single-line stitch so no wonder it's falling apart. The dustbag itself just looks and feels cheap. I went back to my closet and got an older dustbag to compare. There is no comparison.
The older version is made of soft cotton with red stitching (which by the way is a cross-stitch) and drawstring. Even though some of my dustbags are a year old, there are no loose threads or stitches coming apart. I am amazed that this company, which is making so much money, is letting the quality of the dustbags fall apart. I'm sure this doesn't have to do with their move to China which happened years ago. It seems like they are cutting corners in order to make more profit for their shareholders. If this is what they let happen to the dustbags, what about the bags themselves? I haven't bought a new Coach bag in a while (except for an older style off ebay) because I haven't seen a style I like but I am a bit wary about the quality. I'm going to wait and see how my sister's fabric bag holds up. (Photos: Chloe Tejada)

New dustbag: Notice the loose stitching and threads?

Compare the photo above to this one: No loose threads or stitching on the old version.

The old dustbag, done right.

Awesome photos of the new Gap line

Because I love models and the Gap and designers, here are some photos from the Gap Design Editions campaign that got sent to me by a lovely publicist. Thank you!
Update: A friend of mine who just visited the Gap in Toronto says that the store is selling the shirts very quickly. However they are apparently getting another shipment tonight so if you can't make it in today, go tomorrow!

Here is some info about the line:

- The collection will be available exclusively in flagship and top Gap adult stores in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Japan and online in the U.S. at gap.com. Items will range in price from $58 to $88 Cdn. In Canada, the shirts will be available at the following Gap stores in Toronto at Toronto Eaton Centre, Yorkdale Shopping Centre and 60 Bloor St. W; Montreal at Montreal Eaton Centre and 1255 Ste-Catherine St.; Vancouver at Robson St. and Calgary at Chinook Centre.

- This marks the second year of Gap Design Editions, a limited edition collection specially designed for Gap by the winners of the annual Fashion Fund competition. In 2007 Gap announced a partnership with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund to introduce up-and-coming young designers to a broader audience by partnering with winners from the annual Fashion Fund competition. Designers created their own unique interpretations of the classic white shirt – an iconic item that has been part of Gap’s heritage for more than 35 years. Additionally, this year’s Gap Design Editions include menswear.
