Cuff finds on EBay

I've been obsessing over cuffs and I can't get them out of my head. While flipping through the new issue of Elle I saw a beautiful gold plated cuff with a pearl embellishment by Ann Taylor Loft.
I really want to wear a gold cuff somewhere. Anywhere. Maybe at the office holiday party to go with my black dress.

The Ann Taylor cuff wasn't on the website so I decided to troll EBay to see if anything appealed to me. A few did!

Sterling silver cuff

It's simple and classic. I would pair it with a graphic t-shirt or even a plain one. It's casual but elegant.


Vintage gargoyle cuff
I love this cuff but the bidding just ended and I lost! It was made in the 1950s and has pictures of gargoyles and griffins on it. Beautiful.


Multi-chain cuff

I like that it has all those chains because it gives it a little glamour and can really spice up an outfit.

Indian cuff
The detailing and design are very beautiful.The pops of red go really well with the gold. It's definitely a more formal cuff but I would still wear it with a casual neutral-coloured outfit.

A cuff staple. You can't go wrong with one of these.

I really like the leaf embellishments and the black and red stones. It's very pretty and festive.

Fall clothes and accessories I need now

I start my new job tomorrow which makes me think that I need wardrobe even though none of these people have seen any of my old clothes. It doesn't make sense and yet it entirely makes sense. New job, new look, right?

Black Leather Jacket

I ride on a motorcycle (on the back seat, naturally) but my riding jacket is only meant for the road; not for work. It's fitted with hard pads to help save my life. Not so comfortable. But a hot, black leather faux motorcycle jacket sans lifesaving pads will suit me just fine.

I'm obsessed with blazers, especially ones with some kind of crest or symbol on it. I have a blazer from Bebe that has a crest on it and I always get asked about it; whether it's vintage, whether I went to a private all-girls school (yes, a guy actually asked me that and then he asked me: "Are they all as hot as you?" That was a good day) and whether I got it at the Salvation Army. Blazers and crests are hot.

Yay! It's September! This means several things

1. Fall is almost here. Actually I consider Sept. 1 the beginning of Fall because it reminds me of school even though I'm not in school anymore. Fall is my favorite season because I love how there are so many ways to dress and how the air is so crisp and refreshing. It also means shopping for new clothes. But first I have to get a new cellphone before I start spending. I hate when technology gets in the way of shopping for clothes!

2. Gossip Girl premieres on the CW tonight! I'm going to keep refreshing the Pirate Bay so I can download it as soon as possible and then post a review of it hopefully by tomorrow. If only my Internet wasn't so slow.

3. New York Fashion Week begins on Friday which I'm so excited about. I can't wait to see what Marc Jacobs has in store for us. I just watched the documentary Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton again last night and I was reminded about how brilliant he is.

4. More Spring/Summer fashion weeks are coming up! There's still Milan, London and Paris to look forward to.

The skirt reminds me a bit of the Giambattista Valli F/W 08 dresses that poofed out at the hips. I would love to pair it with a tight, sheer blouse to make it have sex appeal.

They look like they will shred your feet but God damn they are sexy.


Whistles Majorette PeacoatThe neckline alone does it for me. I am really tired of seeing women's boobs fall out; even during the Winter, it happens. So this high neck is so refreshing and sexy. Less is more, as they say.


H&M Patch Jeans

This jeans are a bit equestrian and rural which I think is a nice contrast to the city and everyone in their dark denim.

Different ways to wear a scarf

Ever since I bought my first Hermes scarf a year ago, I've been obsessed with all the ways you can tie them on yourself. I really like mixing it up by wrapping them around my wrists as a bracelet or around my waist as a belt and tying them on the handles of my bags. But I also love the different ways you can tie them around your neck. I haven't worn my scarves much this summer because they make me too hot and I'm always pulling at them and inevitably they come apart. I also don't want sweat stains on them. Gross. But this week has been a bit cooler in the city so I'm busting them out of their boxes.

Shoes that won't hurt my feet...I hope

I have horrible luck with shoes. I love high heels but I rarely wear them because they make me bleed/tear my skin/make my toes go numb. I only have one pair of heels that I wear regularly because they are fairly confortable (slingback peep-toe) but they did make my toes bleed when I was waiting in line at L'Oreal Fashion Week. By then my toes were so numb from all the standing that I didn't even feel the pain- a woman in the washroom pointed out the blood to me and handed me a Bandaid. But I still love them because they are don't make me want to cut off my feet, unlike those Aldo Hell heels I bought a year ago.
Come Winter, I will probably be wearing boots but until then, I can't keep wearing the same gold pair of sandals to work everyday. It gets tiring. So I am on a mission to find heels that won't kill my feet. It's going to be a rough journey.

I'm going to pretend that I have an unlimited budget too.

I like all the buckles on this shoe. It's a great take on a old-fashion 1900s shoes but the angular heel and the peep-toe keep it modern.


BCBGI can't go wrong with slingbacks because that means my skin won't get torn off at the heel. I love the colour gold and the straps are sexy.

BCBG
I'm a bit afraid of this one because it looks so chunky and menacing but BCBG usually makes sturdy shoes so I'd be willing to bet that this won't hurt my feet as much as an Also shoe does. The two-tones remind me of Chanel.

Brian Atwood
Brian Atwood always makes impeccable classic shoes. They are so well made. The heel looks dangerously high but the sole looks like it's at least an inch high which means my knees won't hurt as much.

Bruno Frisoni

The design of this shoe is so wild; it will definitely stand out in a crowd.

Derek Lam

So classic and gorgeous, I can't wait to wear this in the Fall. The heel is high enough to make it fashionable but the brown colour and the buckles make it suitable for work.

Scarves in the summer

On my way to work today I passed by a woman who was wearing a tightly-wrapped scarf around her neck and a white wool cap. It's about 25 degrees outside and humid as Hell. Then I noticed at least five more woman wearing scarves. And these are not light, silk scarves. I'm talking about long, heavy, layered scarves. The kind that you have to wrap around your neck at least four times. The kind that my seven-year-old cousin wears when she goes skating.
There can only be one reason for this odd, weather-defying behaviour: Office air-conditioning. Where I work, the a/c is jacked up so high that we are forced to wear sweaters. I guess scarves are the more fashionable alternative to a bulky sweater. But i still cannot understand why women just don't pack the scarf in their bag instead of getting a sweaty neck. I admit that scarves are beautiful and look chic. But I would rather forgo beauty rather than look like I just came from the gym. But that's just me. Most of the women I saw looked as if they were walking through a cold breeze; they looked so effortlessly cool. If it were me, you would see the sweat dripping.
But what will these women do when Fall and Winter hits? Sandals? Shorts? Whatever they do, I'm sure they will look hot.
